The honest position (which we take): they are pragmatically adopted stances that shape practice, not verified facts. The journal's full piece takes each one seriously. Holding them too literally produces the field's loopier moments; discarding them loses useful orientation.
Presuppositions of NLP
The field's operating beliefs — "the map is not the territory", "every behaviour has a positive intention", "there is no failure, only feedback" — held as useful assumptions rather than truths.
