Does NLP Really Work?

"Work" for what? For building communication skill: reliably, with practice. For state management: often. For curing clinical conditions: no — and it shouldn't be tried.

Communication outcomes respond well because NLP's drills (questioning, pacing, calibration) are practice-heavy skills with visible feedback. State and habit work responds variably — anchoring and rehearsal-style techniques help many people, with individual differences that honest practitioners expect.

Clinical claims are where "does it work" gets dishonest fast: anxiety disorders, depression, trauma and medical conditions need qualified treatment. NLP's responsible lane is coaching and training scope. The per-claim breakdown lives in our research pages.
