Self-Efficacy Research (Bandura)

Albert Bandura's self-efficacy programme — belief in one's capability to execute a behaviour predicts persistence and performance — is among psychology's sturdiest findings and the closest evidence-neighbour of NLP's belief-change work.

Bandura identified the strongest efficacy sources as mastery experiences (doing it), vicarious experience (watching someone like you do it), and physiological-state interpretation — mapping almost exactly onto NLP's rehearsal, modelling and state-reframing practices. NLP can honestly cite this neighbouring literature for its mechanisms while claiming none of its trials for its packages.
