- A modelling project of real depth (in the better courses)
What the syllabus does not tell you
Two courses with identical curricula can produce completely different capability. The variables: how many practice hours are watched by someone who can correct you, whether the class is small enough for live coaching, and whether the course treats NLP as a fixed technique list or as a modelling methodology.
NLP at its origin was a modelling field — Bandler and Grinder reverse-engineered how excellent communicators worked. A course that teaches only the resulting techniques teaches the residue of NLP, not NLP itself.
Online vs classroom
Classroom intensives dominate metro marketing, but live online cohorts have quietly become the better practice environment for most learners: evening IST batches, recordings for review, and weekly practice that compounds. Recorded-only courses are the weakest option — they simulate listening, not doing.
IONI's course: Spirit of NLP
A 24-week live online course: 48 contact hours, 100 practice hours, 25 seats, twelve coded recordings for review, a modelling project, and a portfolio instead of a certificate. It is deliberately long because spaced practice beats massed exposure — the same reason music and medicine are not taught in weekends.
