What an NLP institute is
In the Indian market, "institute" usually means a training company: founder-led, running batches across metros or online, issuing certificates through a private body. A handful are serious educational operations with genuine assessment; many are marketing operations with rented venues. The wrapper tells you little; the internals tell you everything.
How to compare institutes
- Trainer: who actually teaches, their training history, and whether you can watch them work before paying
- Class size: 8 and 80 are different products at the same price
- Assessment: observed practice with feedback, or attendance alone
- Honesty: does the institute acknowledge NLP's evidence problems, or only sell outcomes?
- Practice design: spaced weekly practice beats one heroic weekend
- After-training: community and supervision, or nothing
Where IONI sits
The Institute of NLP India is deliberately small: one founder-taught programme, 25 seats, live online, six months, no certificates — portfolio-based. The institute's public writing documents NLP's limitations alongside its usefulness, which is either refreshing or inconvenient depending on what you wanted to hear.
Any institute should demonstrate its teaching before you commit. IONI does this in the free webinar rather than in a brochure.
